Energy Saving tips

Making a few small changes to the way you use energy could make a difference to your next energy bill.
1. Switch appliances off at the wall
TV's, DVD players, computers, stereos and game consoles still use energy in standby mode. When not in use, switch off at the wall.
2. Use a power board
A power board can supply electricity to multiple appliances at the same time and allows you to switch off all appliances using the same switch.
3. Use lamps or spotlights
If you only need a small amount of light, use lamps or spotlights instead of main lights.
4. Use energy-saving globes
Change your old globes to either compact fluorescent or LED globes
5. How many lights are on?
Turn off the lights you are not using.
6.Purchase light furniture
Next time you buy furniture, consider choosing lighter colours. These will brighten your rooms and make them easier to light
7.How bright are the lights?
Use of dimmers to reduce the light levels when only general lighting is required
